brain waves
Did you know there are 5 different brain wave speeds?
Gamma – 30 to 50 Hz
Beta – 13 to 30 Hz
Alpha 7 to 13 Hz
Theta 4 to 7 Hz
Delta 0.5 to 4 Hz
When you meditate, it’s ideal to be in Theta waves.
There are a number of ways you can achieve this level
Binaural beats is one method you can easily access.
It’s essentially putting two different frequencies into each ear with the use of headphones.
For example, if you put 100 Hz into one ear, and 90 Hz into the other, then the binaural beat is 10 Hz
Gamma – This promotes maintenance of mental arousal whilst a person is awake
Beta – This promotes concentration and alertness. It can in some people create anxiety at the higher end of the range
Alpha – This promotes relaxation and is a good place to start meditations.
Theta – This promotes deeper meditation and creativity. It can also be used to help with sleep.
Delta – This promotes a deep level of sleep
